More about Chiropractic?, difference between Chiropractic and Osteopathy?

James Revell

I decided to set this site up to answer some of the most common questions I get asked about chiropractic.

Hello, I'm the Director of Chiropractic at Lushington Chiropractic, which is one of Sussex's largest and most awarded chiropractic clinics. Thousands of people have seen our chiropractors, massage and acupuncture therapists here in Eastbourne since the clinic opened in 2005.

This is my personal site, where I've tried to answer the common questions I get asked about chiropractic in Eastbourne as well as sharing some self-help tips that really work. If you want to find out more about our Eastbourne based chiropractic clinic, then please check out our main site here.

What can I do to look after my back myself?

I began working as a chiropractor in Eastbourne in 2004. Since then I've seen thousands of people from Eastbourne and the surrounding Sussex area for chiropractic treatment. Our team deliver a very caring, patient centred approach to chiropractic treatment. We tailor each person's treatment to suit their personal needs, providing long-term and effective treatment for back pain, neck pain, headaches and more.

Our chiropractic team has over 30 years' experience between them. We use the latest chiropractic techniques, help with national chiropractic research projects and work closely as a team to make sure we do our very best to provide the best results for the people who see us.

We're the largest chiropractic clinic in Eastbourne, with our own digital x-ray suite available to take referrals from other chiropractors, osteopaths and physiotherapists in Eastbourne and Sussex area.

As well as chiropractic the clinic has a large team of sports massage therapy, acupuncture, homeopathy, psychotherapy, nutritional therapy and more. Most of our patients are from Eastbourne, Hailsham, Bexhill and surrounding areas and are recommended to us by word of mouth.

My Chiropractic Qualifications

I began working as a chiropractor in Sussex after I qualified 2002, with a Degree and Masters in Chiropractic Sciences from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractors. A year after qualifying I received my Doctor of Chiropractic, from the European Chiropractor's Union. I also did extra-training with a more experienced chiropractor and undertook the Royal College of Chiropractor's “Post-Registration Training Scheme”. Soon after that I started to work here in Eastbourne.

I've been a registered chiropractor with the General Chiropractic Council since 2002. I'm a Licentiate Member of the Royal College of Chiropractors and a member of the British Chiropractic Association and the United Chiropractic Association. I've also been a Chiropractic Mentor, working with the Royal College of Chiropractors, helping new graduate chiropractors, which I thoroughly enjoy.

In August 2005, I opened Lushington Chiropractic in Eastbourne town centre. My sister ran reception whilst the rest of my family and I worked hard to finish the decorating and get the clinic up and running.

The clinic's gone from strength to strength since then. We have a wonderful team of receptionists, chiropractors, massage therapists and a dozen other practitioners, making us the largest chiropractic clinic in Eastbourne.

Patient's and chiropractic students sometimes ask why I decided to be a chiropractor, and why I decided to settle in Eastbourne. My full chiropractic story is here.

I am registered to provide chiropractic treatment under BUPA, AXAPP, Simply Health, WPA and many other health insurance schemes.
